Events and Clinics
2010 Events and Clinics:
Email Front Range Equine Rescue (FRER) for registration information. Please note that clinics fill up fast.
- March 12-14 - Rocky Mountain Horse Expo (Denver) at the National Western complex. Five of FRER’s horses will be featured throughout the event with clinician Jason Patrick. Jason will spend the long weekend working with rescue horses to help present them as adoptable horses for qualified owners.
- March 20 – Horseman’s Day presented by Colorado Equine Veterinary Services at Falcon High School. Front Range will have a vendor booth. Details TBA.
- May 15-16 - Creating the Ultimate Trail Horse with Debbie Bibb. Latigo Trails Heritage Centre (Black Forest/Elbert). The clinic runs from 9 to 5 each day and includes lunch. Rider fee is $225 each and auditors are $30 per day or $50 for the weekend. This clinic is suitable for all levels of horses and riders. Overnight stabling is available on-site for $10 per night (contact Bob Harrison at Latigo Trails to schedule overnight stalls: 495-0176). - June 5 - Equine Education Day at Latigo Trails Heritage Centre. All horse enthusiasts, owners or not, welcome to attend this free event. Vendor booths, guest speakers, demonstrations, door prizes, used tack sale, hay give-away, restaurant service all day, and more. Doors open at 8:45 a.m. and event runs until 5:00 p.m. Click here to review flyer/schedule.
- June 14-18 - The Care & Keeping of Horses Camp, ages 8-12, cost $100. 9 am - 1 pm for one week. Camp fills quickly - limit of 16 participants. Email us for details.
- July 12-15 - Hanging Around Horses camp, ages 10-14, cost $125. Times: Mon-Tues 9am - 1pm, Wed 5 pm - overnight, Thu ends 10am. Wednesday night includes chores, BBQ, activities and sleep-over. Thursday morning includes chores and breakfast. PRE-REQUISITE: The Care & Keeping of Horses camp. Limit of 8 participants. Email for details.
- August 1 - Michael Blake presentation: WILD HORSES IN AMERICA. He will also be doing a book signing of his latest work
"Twelve, The King" (a portion of book sales will be donated to the rescue). $15 per person; bring a guest, $10 each (RSVP by July 27 with payment to Front Range Equine Rescue, PO Box 307, Larkspur, CO 80118. Food and Beverages included. For more information: FRONT RANGE EQUINE RESCUE, 719-481-1490.
